Christi Institute together with its partner organizations
Peace Agents Pilipinas and Warriors for Peace, held a
commencement exercise for 2008-2009 graduates of non-formal
programs last April 25, 2009 at Niall O’Brien Center.
Altogether, more than 70 students received their certificates
after a tedious year of workshops, lectures, journaling,
simulations, field activities, etc.
Graduates may have had varied trainings, different experience
but last April 25, their voices became one, their visions
unified. They all have the same understanding of conflict
and they share the same goal towards reconciliation which
is a new paradigm of their mission.
Dr. Jasmin Galace gave an inspiring message on how her
personal life had become her motivation to pursue peacebuilding.She
shared her experience in peacework and how she braved
the many challenges along the way and that never giving
up is her sword to combat hopelessness.
She encouraged the students to use the knowledge they
have learned from their trainings as tools to build peace
in their own creative ways.
