The Pax Christi Insitute has it's roots in various training and academic programs offered by Pax Christi Pilipinas since 2004. Our pioneer program conducted was the Peace and Development Educators Program (PDEP), followed by the Master of Arts in Conflict and Reconciliation Studies (MAC).

Further courses were designed by Pax Christi that are nowadays held in cooperation with our partner organizations the Peace Agents and Warriors for Peace.

In 2007 the Pax Christi Institute was founded to provide a high international standard of peace education and conflict research.

The establishment of the programs and the institute was made possible through the support of the German Civil Peace Service - the Association for Development Cooperation (AGEH) and our partner Pax Christi Germany, and especially the engagement of many enthusiastic local and foreign volunteers.
