The
Niall O’Brien Center was founded in 2004 as a service
center for the peace movement in Negros and in the Philippines.
It is named honoring the late Irish Columban priest Fr. Niall
O’Brien (1943-2004), a Philippine hero of active nonviolence
and founding member of Pax
Christi Pilipinas.
Today
the Niall O’Brien Center is a venue for various
peace organizations in conducting trainings, meetings
and celebrations.
It offers a small library on peace
sciences related publications, literature and audiovisual media,
training facilities including an equipped martial art dojo for
Aikido and other nonviolent exercises, and the office of the
Pax Christi Institute and Pax Christi affiliated organizations.
